Talk and Walk Saturday 21st September

We have a couple of free events planned on Saturday 21st September to coincide with Open House London and Lambeth Heritage month. Just turn up, no need to book.

Meet the designers Saturday 21st September 1-2pm

Between 1pm-2pm on Van Gogh Walk there will be a chance to find out more about our development as a community street, launched on 30 March this year. Drop in to meet the project manager and landscape designer - George Wright from Lambeth Council and Richard Peckham from Shape Landscape Architects - and/or chat to resident Elaine Kramer to find out some fascinating local history.

Walk in Van Gogh's footsteps. Meet 2pm outside 87 Hackford Road Saturday 21st September

Dulwich Picture Gallery
When Vincent Van Gogh lived here he wrote "I walk here as much as I can."

Join us outside his former lodgings for a brief overview of Van Gogh's time here from Elaine Kramer, followed by a brisk walk to Dulwich Picture Gallery led by George Wright.

Vincent Van Gogh visited this gallery several times to study the collection of old masters from the 1600s and 1700s. He even signed the visitors' book.

Suzy has arranged a special tour at 3.45pm; there should be time for a quick cuppa in the cafe or wander around the garden when we arrive, before having a look around the Gallery.

This walk will be at a no-nonsense Vincent Van Gogh pace, without stopping to chat on the way. We think this is most authentic and easiest to manage. We and the Lambeth Sustainable Travel team are also keen to show people how easy and rewarding it is to walk around London as Van Gogh loved to do. Most people will manage this distance very comfortably within an hour. Of course you are welcome to join or leave the group at any time.

"Always continue walking a lot and loving nature for that's the real way to understand art better and better" Vincent van Gogh
