Elaine has managed to source the appropriately named Van Gogh tulips and Dutch master daffodils which will bring cheerful colour next Spring to Van Gogh Walk and to the front garden of the house Vincent lived in in 1873. Streetscape, our local gardening social enterprise, will help organise the bulb planting.
We hope that all this earthiness and hard work, and the presence of living models, might inspire some to indulge in some Van Gogh style drawing too; Van Gogh was fascinated by this sort of image of people working outdoors. Michelle from SLAUGHTERHAUS will be here on Van Gogh Walk from 11.00- 2.00pm with paper, drawing boards and charcoal, as well as advice and encouragement for those who need it.
There will be prizes donated by Hyde Plus, and the Stockwell Centre will display the drawings at an exhibition in November.
Adults, children, friends, neighbours and visitors are all welcome. Free, just turn up any time between 11am - 2pm on Thursday 31st October.
